ABOUT KYNU

Helping Leaders Understand What Matters, Strengthen What Needs Attention, and Put Priorities Into Action

Knowing Your Numbers University LLC (KYNU) is a financial management and organizational capacity-building company that helps leaders understand the information, systems, responsibilities, and decisions that shape their organizations.

Through accounting and financial management, organizational strategy, capacity building, training, and hands-on implementation support, KYNU helps leaders move from information to understanding, from understanding to informed decisions, and from decisions to action.

WHY KYNU EXISTS

Understanding Changes What Leaders Can Do

Organizations often have financial reports, budgets, plans, policies, assessments, recommendations, and systems in place. But having information is not the same as understanding what it means, what matters most, or what should happen next.

KYNU exists because leaders are better positioned to make informed decisions, strengthen their organizations, and achieve stronger results when they understand the numbers and information they rely on to lead and make decisions—and when they have the systems, tools, knowledge, and support needed to act on that understanding.

The goal is not simply to provide information, complete a project, or deliver recommendations. KYNU helps leaders understand what matters, apply what they learn, implement what is needed, and build the capacity to sustain progress.

MISSION & VISION

Our Mission & Vision

01 / MISSION

What KYNU Exists to Do

To help leaders understand what their numbers and information reveal, build and strengthen the systems and capacity their organizations need to succeed, and turn informed decisions into action for stronger results and greater impact.

02 / VISION

The Future KYNU Envisions

A future where leaders understand the strategic significance of their numbers and information, and organizations have the systems and capacity to implement strategies and priorities informed by that understanding—leading to stronger organizational performance and greater impact.

WHAT KYNU BELIEVES

Strong Organizations Need More Than Good Information

01

Understanding Is the Starting Point

Information creates value when leaders understand what it means, why it matters, and what it reveals about the organization. That understanding gives leaders a stronger foundation to ask better questions, identify priorities, and make informed decisions.

02

Information Should Lead to Informed Action

Reports, data, assessments, plans, and recommendations should do more than document what is happening. They should help leaders recognize what needs attention, determine what decisions are required, and take informed action.

03

Plans Create Value Through Implementation

A strategy, recommendation, or plan creates value when it is implemented. Progress requires clear priorities, practical next steps, defined responsibilities, and people who are equipped and supported to do the work.

04

Capacity Must Be Built to Sustain Progress

Sustainable progress depends on more than individual expertise or one-time solutions. Organizations need the knowledge, skills, roles, systems, processes, tools, and practices that enable them to continue the work, adapt, and respond effectively as needs change.

05

Results and Impact Matter

The purpose of better understanding, stronger systems, sound strategy, and greater capacity is not simply to complete projects or improve processes. The work should lead to stronger organizational performance, meaningful results, and greater impact.

CORE VALUES

The Standards That Guide
How KYNU Works

01

Clarity

Clarity is foundational to informed leadership. KYNU works to make complex financial and organizational information understandable, practical, and useful so leaders can see what matters, ask better questions, and make informed decisions.

02

Integrity & Accountability

KYNU approaches the work with honesty, accuracy, transparency, and accountability. We believe leaders should be able to rely on the information, systems, processes, and guidance connected to their responsibilities—and trust that the work has been handled with care and professional integrity.

03

Learning That Leads to Action

Learning should do more than increase knowledge. KYNU designs learning experiences and resources to help people understand what matters, apply what they learn to real responsibilities, and take meaningful action—immediately, not months later.

04

Excellence in Service

Excellence means bringing preparation, professional judgment, diligence, and high standards to every engagement. KYNU approaches the work with responsiveness and attention to detail while keeping the focus on practical solutions, quality execution, and what the organization needs to move forward.

05

Systems That Sustain

Strong organizations need systems and processes that support the work beyond a single project, person, or point in time. KYNU helps build practical systems that people can understand, use, maintain, and strengthen over time—so the organization is better equipped to sustain progress and continue the work.

06

Results & Impact

The work should lead somewhere. KYNU keeps the focus on outcomes that strengthen organizational performance, produce meaningful results, and contribute to greater impact.

07

Partnership & Collaboration

KYNU works alongside leaders and teams with respect for their knowledge, responsibilities, and the current needs and circumstances of their organization. We believe stronger solutions are built through collaboration—by listening, working through challenges together, and supporting the people responsible for turning decisions and priorities into action.

THE KYNU APPROACH

Working Alongside Leaders From Understanding to Implementation

KYNU’s approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the current needs and circumstances of the organization. We begin by listening and understanding the situation, then helping leaders clarify what matters most, interpret the information in front of them, understand what their responsibilities require, and identify what needs attention.

When decisions and priorities need to be carried forward, KYNU works alongside the leaders and teams responsible for the work—helping develop systems, strengthen processes, build knowledge and skills, work through challenges, and move priorities from decision to implementation.

The objective is not simply to complete an engagement or deliver a recommendation. It is to leave leaders better informed, teams better equipped, systems stronger, and the organization with greater capacity to sustain progress and continue the work beyond KYNU’s direct support.

WHAT LEADERS CAN EXPECT

Clear Guidance, Practical Support
& Capacity That Lasts

01

Clear Explanation

KYNU explains complex financial and organizational information clearly so leaders understand what it means, why it matters, and how it connects to their decisions and responsibilities.

02

Practical Guidance

KYNU provides practical guidance grounded in the organization’s current needs, circumstances, priorities, and capacity. Recommendations and next steps are designed to be relevant, realistic, and useful—not based on a one-size-fits-all approach.

03

Hands-On Support

When implementation support is needed, KYNU works alongside leaders and teams as they put decisions and priorities into practice—helping clarify next steps, address challenges, and develop or improve the systems and processes needed to do the work.

04

Capacity That Lasts

KYNU focuses on building knowledge, tools, systems, and capacity that remain useful beyond the engagement. Leaders and teams should be better equipped to continue the work, sustain progress, and respond effectively as future needs arise.
